Overview

Powered by Microsoft Windows CE.Net, the BOSaNOVA WTC-350 provides cost-effective and secure access to applications residing on an iSeries or pSeries host, and/or Microsoft Windows, Unix, or Citrix servers.

The unit is small and efficiently designed; it can be used as a base for the the monitor or mounted vertically using the factory-supplied stand.

The BOSaNOVA WTC-350 includes a powerful suite of connectivity clients as well as viewing support for standard office file formats such as PDF, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.

Versatile Hardware Platform with
High-speed Processing

A versatile combination of features provides the flexibility to support virtually any application with the BOSâNOVA WTC-350. The device has 64MB of RAM 16 MB of Flash Disk. It is equipped with support for SVGA display (up to 1280x1024, 24-bit true color, VESA monitor support with DDC), and has one parallel printer port, two serial ports, two USB ports, keyboard port, mouse port, 10/100 base-T Ethernet interface, and an audio out line. It optionally supports a full-featured 122-key keyboard designed for use with midrange applications (with or without magnetic strip reader capabilities).

Centralized Management

As with any Windows Server product, the system administrator manages the accounts the Thin Client Terminals use. A major benefit is that since all applications are run from the server, there is no local installation or maintenance of software applications at the client workstation. Furthermore, since all user data and files are resident on the server, central backup is possible, thereby freeing the user of this task.

Windows & Citrix Connectivity


All of the BOSâNOVA terminals provide connections to Windows Terminal Servers and Citrix servers using the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) or Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) client software. RDP connects to Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition (TSE) or Windows 2000/2003 Server, while ICA connects to TSE or Windows 2000/2003 servers with Citrix Metaframe extensions, including Metaframe XP.

The BOSâNOVA WTC-350 is simple to configure either locally or remotely using the Remote Terminal Administrator (RTA), which enables the following tasks:

 TN5250e / TN3270e Terminal Emulation

 

The BOSâNOVA WTC-350 includes embedded TN5250e and TN3270e based terminal emulation software for up to four sessions in connection to IBM iSeries (AS/400) and zSeries (S/390) systems, including SCS printing. It also supports a full-featured 122-key keyboard*, enabling efficient work with host applications.

The BOSâNOVA WTC-350 includes support for a full-featured 122-key keyboard*, enabling efficient work with host applications, whether they be Windows Terminal Server or iSeries resident.
Because the BOSâNOVA 122-key keyboard is driverless, it functions seamlessly with any PC, as well as with a thin client. Therefore, for customers with a mixed PC and thin client environment, the BOSâNOVA 122-key keyboard is the ideal keyboard investment.
