Now Includes DTF - Data Transfer Function
Description
via BOSâNOVA provides flexible and powerful file transfer between a midrange host and
standalone, LAN-based, or remote PCs. No PC Support components are required, significantly
reducing resource utilization. AS/400 and System/36 versions are available.
Sharing files between PCs and AS/400 or System/36 hosts offers a level
of integration not attainable using emulation alone. With via BOSâNOVA's built-in
capability to convert host data into popular PC file formats, incorporating data into PC
spreadsheet and database applications is fast and easy.
via BOSâNOVA now includes the new advanced DTF (Data Transfer
Function) which offers a number of upgrades to the file transfer operation:
- Transfer files to and from Excel
- SQL Capability for System/36 and AS/400 Data Selection - no longer
necessary to trnasfer an entire file
- Works in all configurations - including IP
- Includes a Y2k compliant scheduler for scheduled events
- Run mulitple events
- Run triggered events - the file transfer can be started after it
recognizes a pre-set parameter
- Install Wizards - provide and easy-to-use interface for install,
configuration and operation
- Available in High Density host media for new higher density tape drives
(additional cost)
Windows users will benefit most, with an advanced user- friendly
front-end which is part of every BOS Windows emulation product. Install the host software
and all users already connected to that host are ready to go.
Note that via BOSâNOVA operates without any PC Support components. PC
memory requirements and AS/400 overhead are minimal.
When used with BOSâNOVA Access, file transfer to remote PCs over
telephone lines is also readily available.
