Compatiblity and Flexibility

Both 3010 and 3015 models are compatible with SDLC and X.25 protocols. One host attachment is provided for access to an AS/400 or System 36/38 support up to 56 Kbps with a RS-232 interface and up to 64 Kbps using V.35 or X.21 interfaces. They are also compatible with a variety of IBM programs, including OfficeVision/400, DisplayWrite/36, and Text Management/38.

Both models have 3 ports and support up to 8 and 16, 5250 compatible devices, respectively. Each port connects to seven addressable units using twinax or twisted pair cabling. The 3010 and 3015 support up to 4 or 8 devices when attached to a System 36/38 or 8 to 16 devices when attached to an AS/400. Connection to System 36/38 is via 5294 emulation. AS/400 connection is via 5394 emulation.

Controller customization is easy, using standard 3.5" diskette drive to store device, keyboard, and communication configuration parameters. Upgrades are easy; with no downtime for reconfiguration. Field installable upgrades for the 3010 extends its capabilities to match the Decision Data Model 3015 controller. Remote file transfer using PC Support, Client Access and IBM emulation enables access to applications without additional software costs.
