Overview
The IBM® 4247 multi-form, serial dot matrix printer combines high-speed, reliable impact printing with the ability to load up to six different types of forms in the printer at once. With print speeds of up to 700 characters per second (cps) and support for both cut sheet and continuous form paper, the 4247 is fast and flexible. Backed by IBM quality, reliability and service, this printer is an excellent choice for demanding print environments.
Versatility with forms and graphics
A powerful dot matrix printing design enables the IBM 4247 to print on up to eight-part forms. The IBM 4247’s ability to support up to six paper input sources, combined with paper parking, switching and linking helps maximize your printing options and increase your productivity.
The all-points-addressable graphics capability enables applications to print bar codes, bar charts, pie charts, scanned logos, forms and CAD/CAM drawings.
Multiple interfaces
With serial, parallel, twinaxial and Ethernet 10/100 BaseT user-installable and switchable interface cards, this printer is ready for your network needs — today and in the future. The 4247 supports IBM SCS and DSC/DSE datastreams, and optionally IBM Intelligent Printer Data Stream™ (IPDS™). You can help protect your investment in application software and forms inventory because the IBM 4247 offers a wide variety of emulations, including the popular IBM Proprinter® and Epson printers.
Easy to use and efficient
Operation is simple with automatic forms loading, forms thickness adjustment and paper selection. The straightforward design of the operator panel makes it simple to manage forms loading, alignment, selection and other printer settings. The operator panel features a 2x40 LCD display for easy-to-read menus and messages. The document-on-demand feature allows you to eject and then print on the very next form, thus minimizing paper waste.
