The P840 series is the entry-level router designed specifically for
the SOHO user. It has an impressive feature set which includes IP
routing, IP spoofing, Stac LZS data compression, NetSAFE firewall,
SNMP, NAT, NAPT, Reverse NAPT, DHCP, external power supply and
Windows-based GUI for easy Internet configuration.
The
P840 series of access routers provides a truly flexible solution for
small commercial or home user applications. All units in the range
feature 10BASE-T/RJ45 (MDI or MDI-X) LAN connectors and an S/T or U
interface ISDN connector. Additionally, two models in the series
offer two POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) ports. These ports
allow two analog telephones, fax machines or a combination of the
two to be used. This feature eliminates the need to deploy a
standard telephone line, as all voice and data calls can be made
over the ISDN line.
The
P840 series has a range of entry-level models that allow up to 10
LAN users to connect to the WAN link. Those models are upgradable to
allow an unlimited number of LAN users to connect to the WAN and
preserves the equipment as the office grows.

High Speed Access Router for Serial, 56/64k or E1/T1 lines
The
P850 series is a PPP over leased line or Frame Relay (RFC1490)
router, optimized for high bandwidth applications providing single
network access up to E1 (2.048Mbps) speeds.
In Frame Relay mode, the P850 supports up to twenty DLCI’s
(Data Link Connection Identifiers) for simultaneous connectivity to
twenty other remote sites with data compression on a per DLCI basis.
Auto learning of DLCI
numbers and auto learning of LMI type is also supported to greatly
ease router installation. Advanced congestion control to eliminate
the impact of packet loss as network congestion develops.
