Overview
BOSâNOVA TCP/IP provides Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP and Citrix users on a TCP/IP or Twinax network with robust TN5250e emulation, native AS/400 file transfer services, convenient network printing (LPD), and SCS printing emulation. BOSâNOVA TCP/IP attaches directly to the network with no need for a router and is especially easy to install, configure, and use. BOSâNOVA TCP/IP is designed to work transparently with remote LAN access products such as those available from Lynk, Shiva, IBM, and Cisco.

TN5250e Display and Printing Emulation
BOSâNOVA TCP/IP offers a rich TN5250e emulation environment that provides enhanced emulation functions for a wide range of IBM terminals, including 3477FC, and includes additional features such as flat-style toolbars, keyboard mapping and macro functions. Also included is MorphExpress, BOScom's on-the-fly GUI that performs automatic translation to all AS/400 character-based screens to full color, mouse sensitive Windows screens

Printing Options
SCS Printing

SCS printing support enables printing directly from the AS/400. Native SCS printer sessions are supported for specific OS/400 versions with appropriate PTFs installed (see https://www.bosweb.com/bntcp_ptf.html for more information).

BOSâNOVA TCP/IP SCS print support enables printing directly from the AS/400.

LPD Printing

?       Supports multiple-named LPD queues permitting multi-user configuration and printing on more than one local or network printer

Data and File Management

      The BOSâNOVA TCP/IP provides advanced data and file management features and tools for AS/400 connectivity:

Data Transfer Function (DTF)

      DTF is a 32-bit Windows utility for transferring data in either direction between a PC and an AS/400. The DTF Wizard is used to build a list of profiles that can be automatically transferred. The DTF Scheduler enables transferring data according to a predetermined time and/ or based on a predefined screen trigger that initiates the transfer. The DTF Interface is used to create and view the profiles and profile lists, change parameters and profile lists, and run data transfers interactively.

Native AS/400 File Transfer
      The native AS/400 FTP client is designed specifically for use with the AS/400 and supports all the AS/400 naming conventions and file systems. Using the FTP client, users can transfer and receive data to and from the folders area, and from the AS/400 libraries.

Host Explorer

      The Host explorer, modeled on the Windows Explorer, enables users to view the AS/400 as if it were another PC on the network. It provides access to all connected AS/400s, displaying libraries and/0or files as if they were folders on another (PC) network drive. Host Explorer functions include:

drag-and-drop copying of folders or files

sending print jobs directly from a PC to AS/400 printer queues

a full, customizable toolbar (with or without text labels)

BOSâNOVA IFS

BOSâNOVA IFS (Integrated File System) is a Windows 95/98/Me utility that enables you to work with AS/400 folders as if they were PC folders. With BOSâNOVA IFS you can:

use an AS/400 as a file server for your PC

assign a root folder on an AS/400 to an available drive on your PC

use IFS in Windows Me, Windows 98, Windows 95 and DOS applications

copy folders and files to and from your PC and an AS/400

change file attributes and create, browse, rename, move, and delete PC and AS/400 folders and files

Administrative Tools
User Policy Editor

The User Policy Editor provides the system administrator with an efficient way to assign user (and group) privileges and limitations. Management of policies is flexible, allowing system administrators to update user and group profiles from any workstation on the network.

The Remote Configurator allows configuration of parameters for all network users from a single PC.

TCP/IP protocol must be installed, configured, and running OS/400 V3R1, OS/400 V4R2 or e-Twinax Controller^TM (for TCP/IP over Twinax connection).
